Spring is coming and I am trying something a little bit different this year. Normally my personal style is fairly minimal and my wardrobe is filled with neutral colors. Give me a black on black head to toe look, and I am in heaven. But lately I have been feeling like I am in a little bit of a rut. Have you guys ever felt like that? There is nothing worse than when you lose your focus on your style.

Wanting to nip this in the bud right away, I decided to do a little vision boarding to spark some inspiration. I trolled through my instagram and pinned lots of new styles and colors that I loved on pinterest. When I was done, I was surprised to find that my vision board was filled with COLOR! Reds of course, but also, greens, yellows, blues and even pink! With spring on the horizon, I feel like this is the perfect time to start evolving my own personal style by adding some vibrant colors to the wardrobe mix. And HOPEFULLY pull myself right out of my style rut!

So I set out to the stores to see if I could find something with color that would make my heart go pitter-patter. My first stop was into Kindred! Something that I love about this boutique collective is that it is merchandised by color so it was super easy to find the colors that were speaking to me! I spotted this darling top from Scoobie and I immediately and knew I had to have it. The colors are vibrant, I love the neckline and the tie at the waist is super flattering. As a minimalist at heart, the only print I typically wear are stripes so this is the perfect mix for me! And for less than $40, this was a no brainer for me. Also, not wanting to stray tooooo far away from my personal style, I decided to pair it with this top with white jeans and white booties. It doesn’t get much more neutral than that! There were only a couple of these tops left in the store, but I heard it was on re-order and should be available in April!

If you are feeling in a style rut, try to take the time to do a little soul-searching. Make your own vision board,  search pinterest and look for style inspiration from some of your favorite celebrities. And lastly, do not underestimate the power of color. Not only are they trending for Spring and Summer but they just might bring a little joy to your closet!
